WATCH: Director Kabir Khan Verbally Abused by a Shoe-Wielding Mob At Karachi Airport
Filmmaker Kabir Khan had to face angry protestors at the Karachi International Airport in Pakistan, who booed, heckled and fired abuses at him. The director of 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan' and 'Ek Tha Tiger'was in Karachi event today, April 27, 2016, to attend and speak at a day-long Marketing Association of Pakistan's annual conference, MARCON. He was heading to Lahore when he came face-to-face with the angry mob.
Evidently, Kabir was hounded and verbally attacked by a shoe-wielding mob for making 'Anti-Pakistani' films. As soon as the director arrived at the Quaid-e-Azam International Airport in Karachi, a few people encircled him and started shouting slogans.
The director had two releases last year, Bajrangi Bhaijaan with Salman Khan and Phantomwith Saif Ali Khan. Of the two, Phantom was met with a ban in Pakistan for its anti-Pakistan content.
Reacting to the news that has spread like wildfire, the filmmaker took to social network, Twitter, to voice his opinion about the entire controversy. He said: "To media on both sides: 12 screaming lunatics with a mobile phone camera is not news. Please don't give them the attention they want. Ignore."
A hashtag '#GetOutKabirKhan' has also been doing the rounds on Twitter.
